MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: Samsung WA55CG7500AEUS
WA55CG7500AEUS is Samsung's Ivory top-loading washer with a 5.
Identify the 5.5-cubic-foot washer and its panel
WA55CG7500AEUS is Samsung's Ivory top-loading washer with a 5.5-cubic-foot rated tub, Auto Dispense System and Super Speed Wash. The full US SKU is on the manufacturer product and support pages; the owner PDF names the broader WA55CG7500 family. Its specification table separates this 5.5-cubic-foot family from the 5.4-cubic-foot WA54CG7550. That distinction matters because the same booklet contains drawings and cycles for both machines. Page 38 labels the WA55 panel, while the cycle overview marks Activewear for WA55 and Pet Care Wash for WA54. A Pet Care instruction elsewhere in the shared manual therefore cannot automatically be assigned to this Ivory SKU. Match the label on the cabinet and the panel drawing before using a code or menu description. The display reports remaining time or an information code; the cycle dial and separate temperature, rinse, spin and soil controls establish what was actually selected.
Read the automatic dispenser before assuming a fill fault
Auto Dispense is a defining feature of this model, and several apparent interruptions relate to its drawer rather than to the water supply. The two covered reservoirs accept liquid detergent and liquid softener; the instructions exclude powder from those compartments. Each has its own front-panel key and refill light. A blinking Detergent or Softener LED asks for that particular agent, so identify which light is blinking before changing settings. Samsung says to push the drawer fully home until it clicks. If it remains ajar, SDC appears and a wash cannot begin normally; close it before treating the message as an internal failure. After refilling, quantity detection begins when Start/Pause is held, and its duration can vary by liquid. The manufacturer advises cleaning the reservoirs before a refill or a change of agent. Residue after automatic dispensing can be normal; hardened liquid or a drawer that no longer seats deserves the cleaning procedure on pages 57 and 58.
Choose a cycle that exists on the WA55 variant
The manual gives WA55's Activewear cycle a specific purpose: performance fabrics such as jerseys and training clothes, with gentler action. Pet Care Wash is marked for the neighboring WA54, even though some common option text mentions it. Normal adjusts wash time and rinses to the detected load. Heavy Duty addresses sturdy, heavily soiled colorfast fabric; Bedding/Waterproof handles bulky or water-resistant items and warns against mixing waterproof and ordinary loads. Quick Wash is for lightly soiled clothing and recommends no more than four pounds. Deep Wash uses more water for unusual loads; selecting Deep Fill from Normal changes the program to Deep Wash instead of simply adding water to Normal. The Super Speed button shortens supported cycles, but the chart does not offer it for Activewear. The automatic dispenser is also not automatic in every fabric program: the guide says Wool, Delicates and Activewear require manually setting the agent input level. Check these constraints when an option appears unavailable or the result differs from another cycle.
Trace a symptom through the controls and maintenance pages
A locked lid during a running cycle is expected. Pause with Start/Pause and wait for the lid-lock icon to clear before opening; Garment+ identifies a point when an item can be added. The Self Clean reminder appears after twenty cycles, and the Self Clean program calls for an empty tub. For a machine that will not start, the troubleshooting table asks about a closed lid, open taps, held Start/Pause and Child Lock. If filling is slow, examine supply hoses and the inlet mesh filters; page 56 connects a clogged filter specifically with 4C. For wet clothing, the table also asks whether a small load became unbalanced and whether a suitable high-efficiency detergent was used. A short pause or lock-check clicks at the start are described as ordinary behavior. Keep the exact displayed characters and the stage of the cycle in a service note instead of treating every pause, sound or refill light as the same fault.
Use the information-code table without turning statuses into faults
Pages 64 to 66 list nineteen distinct strings. The water group separates 1C, a level-sensor problem with a three-minute automatic drain, from 4C, insufficient supply, 4C2, an incorrectly connected cold hose, 5C, failure to drain, LC, a drain-hose check, and OC, overflow. The lid-open dC and unbalanced-spin Ub suggest visible checks before service. The power and control group includes 9C1, 9C2, AC6, HC, PC, PC1, 3C and 8C; use each row's restart or service instruction, not a guessed replacement part. Three remaining displays are different: Ur indicates an additional rinse after imbalance, SDC requests a fully shut dispenser drawer, and dn means a SmartThings firmware update is under way. The manual says to wait for the update, which may take about thirty minutes and may persist through power cycling. These entries need their own labels as status or user-action messages, not blanket descriptions of broken electronics.
