MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: Samsung DW80R5060US/AA
Samsung DW80R5060US/AA: six displayed information codes from its linked family manual.
Identify this recessed-handle variant
DW80R5060US/AA is the fingerprint-resistant stainless member of Samsung's DW80R5060 dishwasher line. Its official specification gives a 48 dBA sound rating, fifteen place settings, a third rack and a one-touch upper-rack adjuster. The US suffix distinguishes this finish from the UG black-stainless version; those product numbers matter when selecting exterior parts. The exact /AA support entry lists this model in Samsung's support API and selects the owner manual used here. Its cover says DW80R5060 series, while the control and cycle pages explicitly include DW80R5060. The appendix also records fifteen place settings. Photograph the rating label as well as the display before troubleshooting, because this family manual includes other series with different arrangements.
Use the panel and StormWash zone deliberately
The upper-edge panel provides a display for wash information, delay hours and error messages. Holding Sanitize for three seconds activates or releases Control Lock; Delay Start can postpone a cycle by as much as twenty-four hours. These are controls, not diagnostic codes. Samsung lists Auto, Normal, Heavy, Delicate, Express 60 and Rinse Only. For heavily soiled cookware, StormWash directs an extra jet into the red-lined zone of the lower rack: put pots open-side down and keep handles clear of nozzle rotation. StormWash cannot be selected with Delicate or Rinse Only. Adjust the upper rack before loading fragile dishes, as the manual warns movement after loading can cause damage. Recording the selected cycle helps distinguish a disabled option from a fault.
Take OC and LC water warnings seriously
Page 30 calls the messages information codes. OC is an over-level water check: the instruction is to close the supply valve, shut off the dishwasher circuit at the household breaker and contact authorized Samsung service. LC is a leakage check with more specific advice for a leaking supply-valve connection. Shut off the water and breaker, then have the installer correct that connection; contact Samsung if the problem persists. A digital water leakage sensor is listed on this SKU's official specification. Do not restart repeatedly while a leak is visible, or interpret LC as the normal rinse-aid reminder. Capture which code actually appeared and where water was observed; OC and LC describe different conditions even though both require isolation.
Separate 4C supply from 5C drainage
A 4C message points to the inlet: inspect whether the tap is shut, the supply interrupted or the inlet valve or line frozen or clogged. Samsung says to close the supply and seek service if the message continues. A 5C message instead sends you to the drain hose and sump opening after closing the valve. Look for a kink or blockage without opening sealed electrical components. Poor cleaning without a displayed code may involve food blocking a spray nozzle; the maintenance chapter describes checking those holes. It is especially important not to transplant the PDF's removable-filter procedure blindly: its heading explicitly limits that procedure to the DW80K7050 series, a different machine in the same booklet.
Read HC and 3C beside ordinary drying behavior
HC is the high-temperature heating check. Samsung says the machine automatically adjusts an overly hot supply into its appropriate 120–149 °F range; if the code remains, switch off the breaker and contact service. For 3C, the pump-operation check, switch off the machine, try starting again and arrange authorized service if it returns. Neither code should be confused with AutoRelease. This model normally opens its door at the end of a cycle to aid drying, and the manual says that an automatically opened door cannot be pushed closed for two minutes. If dishes are wet with no code, check the liquid rinse-aid reminder and loading first. The six-code list belongs to this linked manual, not to a generic Samsung dishwasher table.
