MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: LG DLEX7900BE
The LG DLEX7900BE black electric steam dryer has documented tE, Ps and d80/d90/d95 faults, with a distinct normal bIG steam-load display.
Identify the black electric rear-control dryer
DLEX7900BE is LG's Black Steel electric member of a rear-control dryer range, rather than the white electric DLEX7900WE or the gas DLGX7901BE. The exact product sheet assigns this SKU a 7.3-cubic-foot drum, fourteen cycles, twelve options, and a matching WT7900HBA top-load washer. Its sixty-four-page owner's manual is linked from the DLEX7900BE.ABLEECI support page and names the DE*X790**E family on the cover. That combination matters: the family manual covers several configurations, while the product sheet fixes the colour, fuel, capacity, and offered controls for this particular machine.
The rendered control drawing shows a rear dial, start and power buttons, TurboSteam and other option keys, and a time-and-status display. An EasyLoad door can be opened in two ways for loading or removing laundry; a four-way exhaust routing option belongs to the electric version. The specification gives its drum material as aluminized alloy steel, even though a general cleaning paragraph in the shared manual refers to stainless steel. Use the exact electric specification for construction details and the electric power and vent instructions, not a gas-only connection diagram from a neighbouring model.
Put its steam and sensor cycles in context
This SKU actually has TurboSteam. Steam Fresh is intended to refresh already dry clothing and reduce wrinkles and odours; Steam Sanitary is a separate hot-steam cycle for suitable items. The manual describes a load-size setting on Steam Fresh: 1, 3, 5 and bIG represent increasing amounts of clothing. A displayed bIG is therefore a selected steam load size, not a breakdown code. For the black electric model, this distinction is especially useful because the operating error table appears only a few pages later and the two displays could otherwise be confused.
Sensor Dry compares moisture in garments with moisture in the air and may revise the remaining-time estimate during a cycle. The available programmes also include Bedding, Small Load, Anti-Bacterial, Delicates, Towels and Sportswear; Speed Dry and Air Dry are manual-time choices. Steam should not be applied indiscriminately: the guide excludes foam and down from Steam Sanitary and delicate textiles such as wool or silk from Steam Fresh. TurboSteam cannot run with Energy Saver, and the steam option can make the door and nozzle hot. Those limits are operating rules for the actual steam-equipped DLEX7900BE, rather than signs of a sensor fault.
Read reminders and the installation test correctly
At the beginning of a cycle the Clean Filter lamp asks for a lint-filter check, then goes out when Start/Pause is pressed. Drying and cool-down symbols describe the current phase. The Wi-Fi symbol means a network connection, and a padlock means the controls are locked. None of those routine indicators proves an appliance failure. Flow Sense has a different purpose: it watches for restricted exhaust flow in the household duct. Four bars during the installation test are a serious restriction signal, although the guide warns that a bar count from a short installation test may differ from the reading during ordinary drying.
To start the empty-drum installation test, the manual instructs users to hold Temp and Signal while pressing Power; 1Ns appears when it starts and ENd at completion. Those two messages report test progress. The same test table identifies Hs as a humidity-sensor fault and Ps, PF or NP as potential electric cord or household-supply issues. It also mentions GAs, but marks that entry gas-model only, so it should not be assigned to DLEX7900BE. Confirming the model's electric panel and fuel type before interpreting a family-table message prevents a normal test state or another variant's gas warning from becoming a false repair diagnosis.
Respond to real fault codes and exhaust warnings
In normal operation, the manual's error table links tE1 through tE7 with a temperature-sensor failure; its instruction is to switch the machine off and seek service. Ps points to an incorrectly connected electric power cord, for which the terminal-block connection should be checked by someone qualified to handle the electrical installation. The rendered table also clearly prints d80, d90 and d95, although its extracted text mangles their seven-segment glyphs. These three displays describe severe exhaust restriction, such as an excessively long duct, too many turns, or a blocked house vent. The manual says not to use the dryer until that exhaust path has been cleaned or repaired.
A lit Flow Sense indicator or four bars may precede those severe duct codes, but it is not a reason to ignore the outside vent. The guide calls for checking airflow at the exterior hood, removing lint or foreign material, and correcting crushed or overlong ductwork. Once a restriction is cleared, Flow Sense may need several consecutive cycles to reset; if it remains active for more than five, LG directs the owner to seek service. Keeping the distinction between a filter reminder, an installation-test result, and a genuine operating fault makes the error page much more useful than an undifferentiated list of display strings.
Maintain the steam dryer and use its connected features
The product sheet specifies a 240-volt, 30-amp electric supply and lists water hoses with a Y-connector for its steam feature. Its ThinQ connection can show cycle status, send completion or problem messages, and download a specialist cycle; the manual says only one downloaded cycle can be stored at a time. Opening the door disables a remotely enabled start. These are convenience functions, whereas a displayed tE or severe vent code still requires the physical checks or service described in the manual. Smart Diagnosis can pass troubleshooting data through the app, but it does not make a blocked exhaust safe to operate.
LG asks owners to remove lint from the filter after every cycle and to inspect ductwork for buildup monthly, with cleaning at least yearly. The manual describes a rapid check when drying performance falls, rather than waiting for a d80-series message. If a tiny load ends early on Sensor Dry, its advice is to add a few wet items or select timed drying so the moisture sensor has enough material to assess. Wrinkle Care can tumble briefly for up to three hours after a cycle and is a normal option, not an unintended restart. These model-specific habits protect both the steam and airflow functions without treating every changing display as a fault.
