MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: LG DLEX3700W
The white electric LG DLEX3700W has TurboSteam and a visually verified tE1–tE7, PS and d80/d90/d95 dryer fault table.
The exact white electric dryer
LG DLEX3700W is the white electric member of the DLEX3700/DLGX3701 dryer specification, with 7.4 cubic feet of drum space. The exact product-linked sheet lists twelve drying programs and twelve options, including TurboSteam, Wi-Fi and a FlowSense duct indicator. The owner PDF reached from DLEX3700W.ABWEEUS support has DL*X370** on its cover. Its illustrated page 34 panel shows the matching steam programs and electronic display; page 35 identifies the normal status icons. This chain matters because the shared guide also discusses a gas sibling. Gas-supply messages and procedures are not instructions for this DLEX electric appliance.
The control knob selects a cycle and shows preset settings on the LED display. Start/Pause begins or pauses that choice, while the nearby buttons alter permitted options. Not every option can be combined with every cycle; a double chime and an unlit option lamp mean a selection is unavailable. The time is an estimate, especially with Sensor Dry, whose moisture sensing can revise the remaining duration. Clean Filter lights at the beginning as a reminder to inspect the lint screen, then goes out after Start/Pause. Dry and Cool indicate ordinary program phases. Flow Sense is different: its bars warn of restricted exhaust airflow and deserve a vent check, particularly if drying is taking longer than expected.
Choosing heat, steam and drying level
Normal handles common cotton, linen, shirts and jeans, whereas Heavy Duty is for heavier pieces. Bedding is intended for blankets, pillows and comforters; Delicates uses a lower heat setting for garments such as lingerie and fine blouses. Sensor Dry compares moisture in the clothing and air and adjusts the time. A Very or More dry-level selection lengthens the cycle, while Less or Damp shortens it and may suit clothing that will be ironed. Speed Dry and Air Dry are manual alternatives. Air Dry supplies no heat for articles whose care labels permit tumbling without heat. Load size and fabric compatibility still matter: the manual asks for room to tumble and warns against treating every mixed load as one fabric type.
Steam is a defining feature of this exact SKU. Steam Sanitary uses TurboSteam on appropriate dry items, including a single comforter or up to three pounds of children's clothing in the manual's examples. Steam Fresh is a roughly ten-minute starting program intended to reduce wrinkles and odors in a small number of suitable shirts or one bulky item. The manual excludes wool, silk, leather, foam and other delicate materials from Steam Fresh and says not to open the door during a steam cycle. The display may show 1, 3, a small-size character or bIG when the load amount for steam is being selected. bIG means a large item such as a comforter; it is a size setting, not a failure code. The More Time and Less Time keys adjust that selection.
Airflow care and the installation test
Remove lint from the filter before each load and reinstall it firmly. The care section also calls for regular cleaning around the door and monthly inspection of vent ductwork for lint, with cleaning at least yearly. A clogged screen, crushed transition hose, long run or blocked outside hood can restrict airflow even if the dryer itself still heats. The Flow Sense display on page 35 exists to flag that problem. In the installation test on pages 28–29, the manual directs the installer to run the empty machine and watch the Flow Sense LED. If the LED illuminates, inspect and repair the exhaust path. A result during a short installation test is an indication to investigate the duct, not a reason to treat the test as a normal drying program.
The installation-test table is also variant-specific. On this electric SKU, PS, PF or nP in that test can indicate a power-cord connection or house-supply problem; the table instructs a breaker check and qualified electrical correction where necessary. HS points to a humidity-sensor failure and the manual says to switch off and call service. The same table includes gAS, explicitly labeled gas-model-only. Do not use that gas branch to diagnose DLEX3700W. These test messages differ from ordinary display items such as remaining time or Clean Filter, and they should be recorded exactly if an installer or technician runs the test.
Reading the fault table on page 51
The operating fault table gives tE1 through tE7 for a temperature-sensor failure. LG's direction is to turn off the appliance and request service rather than continuing to run it. PS points to an incorrectly connected power cord at the terminal block; electrical connections deserve an appropriate qualified check. The table prints d80, d90 and d95 for an exhaust system that is too long, has too many turns, or is blocked. Inspect the exterior hood and duct and stop using the dryer until a severely restricted system has been cleaned or repaired. The PDF text layer misreads some seven-segment glyphs, but the codes are legible in the rendered page.
Four Flow Sense bars during drying likewise indicate a serious airflow restriction. LG describes several possible causes, including lint buildup and a duct route that is too long or sharply bent. The indicator may remain on for two hours after the program, and clearing the blockage does not always extinguish it immediately; several subsequent cycles can be needed for the system to establish improved performance. The manual says to call service if it remains active for more than five cycles after the restriction has been cleared. In contrast, bIG in the same table only reports a selected steam load size. Keeping that distinction prevents a comforter-size setting from being mistaken for a defect while treating a real duct warning seriously.
