MODEL OVERVIEW
About this model: GE JGB915CEFCC
GE Profile JGB915CEFCC is a Bisque on Bisque gas range with four sealed burners, 5.0-cu-ft convection oven, three racks and a 450-watt warming drawer. Its linked PDF distinguishes Err from generic F.
A Bisque four-burner Profile top
JGB915CEFCC carries a Bisque on Bisque finish that distinguishes it visually from stainless Profile siblings, but its cooking surface is recessed porcelain enamel over gas. Four sealed burners are specified: 15,000-BTU Power Boil, 11,000-BTU high output, 9,100-BTU all-purpose and 5,000-BTU Precise Simmer. This creates a broad range of heat without a fifth central oval burner. The manual reserves the Power Boil setting for cookware at least ten inches in diameter; a small saucepan does not benefit from a flame spreading beyond its base. The heavy cast grates are continuous, so a full pot can move between the normal and high-output positions without lifting far. Keep caps seated after cleaning and let grates cool before touching them. The owner guide describes spark clicking at LITE, while an actual F display concerns the oven controls. Matching the burner to cookware is a useful first distinction before assuming the number of flames corresponds to another Profile range.
Convection, probe and three racks
The five-cubic-foot main oven provides three racks and six available heights. That is useful for multiple trays, but pan spacing remains important when convection fan air has to travel between them. GE lists QuickSet VI controls, automatic recipe temperature conversion, a temperature probe and delayed baking for this exact model. On the linked convection page the fan moves hot air over and around food; Convection Bake is discussed for multiple shelves, while Convection Roast is aimed at larger uncovered meat. The automatic conversion feature alters a conventional recipe temperature when convection baking is selected. It should not be mistaken for changing a recipe's ingredient amounts or making the oven cook without preheating. The probe is an internal-temperature tool for food, not a fault sensor exposed in the error-code table. Three supplied racks, digital temperature display and True Temp temperature management belong to this appliance; a variant with two racks or center griddle should not replace these exact specifications.
The lower drawer actually warms
Below the oven is a real electric warming drawer rated 450 watts, with a stainless insert. Its job differs from plain cookware storage and from a lower baking oven. GE's family instructions say to begin with food that is already hot and cooked, then hold it for service; cold food is not safely cooked by treating the drawer as a second oven. The drawer page offers low, medium and high choices for different foods and warns against foil lining, which can trap heat. It also says the drawer is unavailable during Self-Clean of the main oven. That restriction matters if a meal is being held while the oven is scheduled for cleaning. The product lists both electronic control and an infinite-control knob in its specifications, so owners should identify their physical drawer control before following a particular drawing. The confirmed facts are heating capability, 450-watt rating and the warm-food safety purpose, rather than a guessed control layout.
Err and F call for different responses
The JGB915-linked guide uses two display messages with different meanings. Err means an entered time or temperature falls outside control limits; press Clear/Off and enter a valid setting. A flashing F with a number or letter and an oven signal is a function error, but the PDF gives no component-by-component suffix dictionary. Its troubleshooting row says Clear/Off, one hour of cooling and a new attempt. If F returns, disconnect all electrical power for five minutes, reconnect, and request service if it happens again. Record the exact characters and whether Bake, Convection or Self-Clean preceded the message. A flashing time of day after a power outage is yet another state on the control page: reset the clock and programmed functions. The lower drawer can retain its own setting when Clear/Off cancels oven operations, so check it separately if needed. No F ending in this source proves a specific gas valve or oven probe has failed.
