MODEL OVERVIEW

About this model: GE JGB750DEFWW

JGB750DEFWW is a white GE gas convection range with a 5.6-cu-ft oven, five burners including a 17,000-BTU Power Boil and 8,000-BTU oval griddle burner, and a storage drawer. The oven display documents F errors.

Plan cooking across five burners and griddle

JGB750DEFWW is a White on White GE 30-inch free-standing gas convection range with a 5.60-cubic-foot single oven. Its five sealed burners occupy a deep-recessed white porcelain-enamel top under continuous cast-iron grates. The right-front Power Boil is 17,000 BTU, useful for rapid water heating in a stable large pot. Left front is 11,000, left rear 9,500, and right rear is 5,000-BTU Precise Simmer. Centered between them is an 8,000-BTU oval burner intended for the exact model's included non-stick griddle. The owner's PDF labels the griddle instructions as applying to some models; the individual GE product page confirms the griddle on DEFWW. Fit it over the center area only as specified, and let it and the surface burners cool before removal. The large flame of Power Boil must stay under the pan base rather than licking beyond its sides. The white recessed surface catches spills differently from a flat glass cooktop. At parts time, identify the center oval separately from a round side burner and state the full white suffix.

Use the matching convection oven panel

Electronic-touch controls operate a true convection oven. The shared owner's guide draws three possible panels: Non Convection, Convection, and Convection with Remote Enable. GE's exact JGB750DEFWW specification supports Convection Bake and Convection Roast, but does not establish the remote-enabled panel. Use the Convection drawing for its airflow and cooking modes without assuming a Wi-Fi feature from the next diagram. Convection Bake helps when several pans occupy oven racks; Convection Roast circulates heated air around larger food. The oven has two self-clean racks. Leave space around food so the fan can move air, and follow rack placement advice instead of treating a large 5.6-cubic-foot cavity as license to crowd it. Traditional Bake, Broil Hi and Lo also appear in the manual's mode list. Audible preheat confirms the selected temperature and Sabbath mode changes normal control behavior. A power interruption requires attention to the clock before delayed functions resume. The lower drawer on this range is storage, not a second oven.

Choose Steam Clean or Self Clean deliberately

This exact range offers Self Clean with a Steam Clean option. Steam Clean is a lighter, shorter surface-cleaning route; it cannot replace the high-temperature Self Clean cycle for heavy baked-on soil. Before Self Clean, the guide directs owners to remove the meat probe if present, silver racks, cookware and other objects; GE specifies two self-clean racks for this model, so their finish differs from ordinary bright silver racks pictured for other variants. Wipe heavy grease, shut off surface burners and close the oven door. The manual says cooktop burners will not start during the self-clean cycle. After cooling, clean oval and round burner pieces in their correct positions and ensure caps lie flat; a misplaced cap can give an uneven flame. The family PDF contains a Warming Drawer Guide, but JGB750DEFWW is explicitly listed with a storage drawer. It can hold cookware, not plastic or flammable material, and should never be programmed from the other variant's Warming Drawer instructions. The non-stick griddle also needs its own care rather than an abrasive treatment used on bare cast iron.

Read F separately from other display states

On physical PDF page 30, a flashing F followed by a number or letter is an oven function error. The table does not say which sensor, gas valve or board a particular suffix proves defective. Press Cancel/Off, let the oven cool for one hour and try the function again. If F reappears, disconnect all power to the oven for at least thirty seconds, reconnect, and call service if the code returns. This is the interval printed for this manual, even though other GE ranges use different times. A DOOR indication during cleaning instead asks for a closed oven door. The LOCKED light while trying to cook can simply mean the oven has not cooled enough to unlock. A flashing clock after loss of electricity needs resetting, and the manual separates a door left open during cooking from an electronic F code. Note whether convection, broil or cleaning was active, the complete display text and model JGB750DEFWW for the repair discussion.
